Here are some great fantasy basketball waiver pickups for the 2010-2011 NBA season . . . Fantasy Couch will keep a radar on players who are in position to blow up statistically (or at least show signs of a significant increase). Get on the bandwagon of these waiver-wire studs with confidence and get that extra “umph” to take your team to the top:

Marco Belinelli (SG) NOK [available in 69% Yahoo, 95% ESPN] – Heading into the season with a strong endorsement from new head coach Monty Williams and team captain Chris Paul, Marco is set for a career year. With his confidence (and minutes) sky high, Belinelli will have easy looks alongside CP3 to contend for most 3-pointers made in the NBA.

Aaron Afflalo (SG) DEN [available in 61% Yahoo, 89% ESPN] – With so much going on in Denver, look for Afflalo to take full advantage of the opportunity. With Carmelo Anthony likely headed out of town any day now, Billups aging fast (and fresh off a long summer), and JR Smith seemingly forever in the dog house – Afflalo will play huge minutes. I envision about 17/4/2 with 2 three’s and about 2 steals per game with good %s.

Shannon Brown (SG) LAL [available in 84% yahoo, 87% ESPN]: Although it’s unlikely he will produce 4 three’s and 4 steals every night, he should still see between 20-30 minutes per game. The Lakers have their eyes set on a three-peat; and they will often rest their starters, as they will likely have a huge lead in most games. Look for Brown to show off his athleticism and lead the 2nd unit this season.

Luke Ridnour (PG) MIN [available in 45% Yahoo, 90% ESPN] – Given the starting nod with Jonny Flynn out on injury and Ricky Rubio out… well overseas, Ridnour has the experience to provide the solid ball handling Minnesota desperately needs. Look for Ridnour to fend off Flynn upon return to keep his starting gig.
